News From The Rehabilitation Research and Training Center: Health & Wellness (RRTC)!

Access to Health Care Survey
Thank you for your interest in the Access to Health Care Survey. The response was quicker and higher than we expected. We are pleased to announce the results of the survey, now available here.

The RRTC: Health & Wellness was funded for a second cycle by the . We have planned a rich group of projects to address the three priorities identified by our funding agency:

  • Identify strategies to overcome barriers that impede access to routine healthcare for individuals with disabilities.
  • Identify interventions in areas such as exercise, nutrition, pain management, or complementary and alternative therapies that promote health and wellness and minimize the occurrence of secondary conditions for persons with disabilities.
  • Develop improved status measurement tool(s) to assess health and well-being of individuals with disabilities regardless of functional ability.

The RRTC: Health & Wellness has changed its structure to better accommodate these new priorities. Oregon Health & Science University’s Oregon Institute on Disability & Development is still at the helm. Partnering agencies will serve on Expert Panels and contribute from their collective expertise.
